Bucket List Wish

Two weeks before Christmas the Choir was contacted by the Charity, “Bucket List Wishes”. We were asked to contribute as part of a surprise wish for a local lady, Catherine, and her family.  As this was potentially going to be Catherine’s last Christmas, the family had asked if the Charity could help to make it a Christmas to remember.

On Sunday, 23rd December, Catherine’s back garden in Wellingborough was transformed into a Santa’s Grotto with a snow machine, snow balls, Santa and his sleigh and we were asked to sing Carols and a selection of Catherine’s favourite songs.

The choir, superbly led by Katie in Gareth’s absence, performed really well but special mention should go to Matt and Lucy for their rendition of ‘Fairytale of New York’ and Jackie for her ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’.

The whole experience was humbling and indeed a privilege to contribute to a wonderfully moving celebration for a really lovely, brave lady. If ever there was a justification needed of the value of a choir, this was it.
