We all but sold out the full capacity of the auditorium and it’s safe to say our 10 year celebratory ‘Gospel Spectacular’ was a resounding success!
So often we refer to the camaraderie generated by this most wonderful of choirs led by the most wonderful of choirmasters, Gareth Fuller, but the choir family just keeps delivering.
We have been making memories for 10 years and we are quite adept at eulogising about our experiences with superlatives. However, over the decade of our history nothing quite compares with the emotion of playing to a full house in a professional concert venue with a brilliant live band. Ahead of Wednesday night’s anniversary concert there were many portents of doom: soloists going down with Covid, band members falling ill, sound systems making strange sounds and even a teasing wait between Gareth being introduced and his emergence from the changing room. Despite being under the weather and with a strained
voice perhaps driven by adrenalin, Gareth gave a characteristically virtuoso performance.
The choir itself fed off Gareth’s enthusiasm and we gave arguably our most polished performance in a large concert venue. Despite the eclectic nature of the set list the quality of the soloists and the consistency of the choir were commented upon by the appreciative audience. The whole evening was a worthy acknowledgement of the enjoyment which we have all, young and old, continued to experience since 2012.
